Has the moon been looking brighter and bigger to you for the past few days? Here's why this month's supermoon is even more super.

Look up at the sky over the next couple days and you may spot the brightest and biggest supermoon of the year.

The biggest full moon of 2025, a so-called supermoon, will rise on Wednesday, Nov. 5, lighting up the night sky with its dramatic glow. At 5:30 p.m. EST (2230 GMT), the moon will reach its closest point to the Earth for the year,

As it rises, the supermoon will glow a deep gold, appearing up to 16 percent brighter and 7 percent larger than usual, according to National Geographic . After this, the moon isn't expected to appear as large and bright again until Nov. 24, 2026.

This month's Beaver Moon will be the largest and brightest of 2025, and it’s one of the closest supermoons we have seen in years.

The final months of 2025 will bring about the two biggest “super moons” of the year, with the first coming Wednesday evening during rush hour.

Experts say the full November supermoon, nicknamed the beaver moon, will be the biggest and brightest moon of 2025.
